My Practice

Offering Craniosacral, Massage, and Polarity Therapy and Trauma Healing since 1987

Renee Rutz, RCsT, LMT

A priority in my practice is to offer a safe space and create a trusting partnership with my clients. From that, a natural process emerges where clients can find ways to connect with the wisdom of their own organism to gain insights, peace, and more ease, leading to a better quality of life. The medium I work in is sensation and the body/mind connection. In addition to bodywork, I utilize a mindfullness approach to bring awareness to sensations in the body. This helps to access the body wisdom and facilitates change.

The primary approaches I utilize are Craniosacral and Polarity Therapy, and Trauma Healing/Somatic Experiencing. I am also a licensed Massage Therapist. All three modalities recognize the inherent health and wisdom of the human body. All modalities are gentle, non-invasive, and client-centered. I hope to help people explore new territories in their bodies that will lead to a fuller expression and experience of their health and engage them to be more present in their lives.

I have been practicing some form of bodywork since 1984. From 1990-2016 I was co-founder and co-owner of a multi-disciplinary holistic health clinic, Complete Chiropractic & Bodywork Therapies. It was one of the original clinics in Ann Arbor, MI where practitioners worked collaboratively and combined chiropractic, massage, and other bodywork modalities.

I have worked with chronic and acute conditions and a variety of diagnosis. Some of my clients have seen me long term, some short term. Many of my clients use my work as a way to support and encourage their healthy lifestyle.

What do all those letters mean? I know, it confuses me too...

"I have been seeing Renee Rutz, craniosacral therapist for over 22 years. I began receiving massage from her for Lupus related chronic pain. It is massage and chiropractic that brought me to Renee’s office, but I soon learned that craniosacral therapy is equally as important for my particular issues. I get a sense of balance and peace after our one hour treatments. I just allow her to sense what my body needs and she always hits the spot! I try to go once a month for general up-keep and more often if I am in crisis. I still have consistent pain, but I know it would be much worse without Renee’s care. I depend on her for most of my health maintenance. I find her a wealth of knowledge. "
